FAQ

What can I make with self-striping yarn?

The obvious answer is of course, socks! However, you can knit or crochet anything with self-striping sock yarn that you can knit or crochet with other fingering weight yarns.  Another fantastic use for self-striping yarn is weaving.  Ravelry has great shawl, sweater, hat, mittens, etc...patterns for self-striping sock yarn other than socks.

How often will shop updates occur?

Shop updates are planned for the 1st and 16th of every month at 1pm (CTS).  Any other shop updates will be announced via Instagram or through my Podcast.

Do you have any yarn that does not contain wool?

Currently I only carry Super Wash Merino based wool yarn.

Is your yarn machine washable?

I have machine washed my hand knit socks in cold water and laid them flat to dry.  However, if you wash your hand knit items in hot water you run the risk of felting them even though the yarn has been chemically treated to be Super Wash.  I recommend hand washing and lay flat to dry to extend the life of your finished item.

I'm not in love with this yarn. Can I return it?

I'm sorry that you do not love the yarn.  Hand dyed yarn can vary in nature due to the process of indie dyeing.  Colors may vary from batch to batch and I cannot accept returns based on color discrepancies. Each skein is dyed individually or in small batches and cannot match the pictures perfectly.  I do my best to make sure that multiple skeins ordered at the same time match as closely as possible.  Also I do not use photo shop to alter the colors of my yarn when photographed.  I try to use natural light to capture the colors of the yarn.  If there is another reason or concern about your order please contact me and I will do my best to assist you in the best solution possible.

Can you reserve or set aside a skein of yarn for me?

I do my best to provide adequate quantities of each colorway in my shop updates.  I cannot show favoritism and set aside a skein of yarn for you.  If you would like to see a specific colorway in the next update please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to add that colorway to the dye schedule.

Can I order a skein as a gift and have it shipped to a different address?

Absolutely!  I am happy to ship your yarn to a different address as a gift.  Please complete the correct shipping address information at checkout.  If you do not want a receipt or packing slip added to the package please send me an email.

Where oh where is my yarn?

All shipments will come with a tracking number.  Once it leaves my hands it is in the hands of the USPS.  They will update the tracking number during the journey to your home.  Please be patient with the process.  If for some reason your order goes MIA please contact me and I will do my best to resolve the situation.

Do you dye custom orders?

I have dyed custom orders in the past.  If you would like to order a custom colorway please contact me and I will see where I am in my dye schedule.  I cannot promise but will do my best to fit your request into my dyeing.

Do you accept wholesale orders?

I currently accept wholesale orders from the United States. At this time I cannot accept international wholesale orders. All orders must be paid in full plus shipping costs at the time of the order.  Minimum orders number is 20 skeins done in multiples of fours for self-striping sock yarn.  All other wholesale orders that are kettle dyed do not have to be in multiples of four but must be a total minimum order of 20 skeins.  I will give you a ship date at the time of your order/inquiry.
